Welcome back and happy new year to all our staff, students and families.

I sincerely hope that you have all had a joyful holiday and feel refreshed and ready to start the year ahead.

Lessons will resume from Monday 10th January.  As I am sure you are aware, Covid rates have gone up in this area and we are therefore continuing with mask wearing at the Centre.  You will need to provide a negative Covid lateral flow test twice a week before you will be allowed into the building.  You are required to wear a face mask at all times, unless exempt.

It is very important that you do not come to the Centre if you feel unwell or have any Covid 19 symptoms. You will need to phone us on: 0161 474 5801 to let us know if you are not attending.  If you do have a positive lateral flow or PCR test, please report this to Admin using the following email: adminSOLC@stockport.gov.uk.

We will then be able to amend the register and arrange for access to lessons remotely while you are isolating.

Government Guidance

The government advice is to get a Covid vaccination if you haven’t already done so.  This can be done online: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/

You can book the following online:

  • 1st and 2nd doses for people aged 12 years old and over
  • 3rd doses for people with a severely weakened immune system aged 18 years old and over
  • boosters for people aged 18 years old and over
  • boosters for people aged 16 and 17 years old who are at high risk from COVID-19 or frontline health and social care workers

Once again, we need to work hard to look after each other and do all we can to behave in ways that protect students, staff and our families.  Wherever possible, please socially distance and use the hand sanitisers provided.

We take your health, safety and security very seriously:

  • Safeguarding is a term used in the United Kingdom. It means protecting the health, well-being and human rights of individuals, which allow people to live free from abuse, harm and neglect
  • Prevent is about safeguarding individuals from radicalisation, ensuring those vulnerable to extremism and terrorism are given appropriate advice and support at an early stage.
  • If you have any concerns, or see anything suspicious, report it immediately to the Safeguarding Officer: Jonathan Colquitt on 07891 949 014 or 07800 616 949.

What is happening this term?
